Plan the new work and the connection to the existing home
An addition or remodel may include brand-new wall and roof assemblies, existing cavities that have been opened, and finished areas that will remain in place. Those conditions may call for different insulation methods within the same project.
Interwest reviews the plans, current construction stage, required R-values, access, and the result you want. That may include thermal insulation along the exterior boundary, drill-and-fill in selected existing cavities, or sound insulation between rooms and floors.
Coordinate before surfaces close

Accessible framing allows the insulation scope to be coordinated with wiring, plumbing, mechanical work, fire blocking, inspections, and drywall.
Finished areas staying in place
When appropriate, drill-and-fill may add insulation through planned openings without removing an entire wall or ceiling.

Tell us what the new space should improve
Exterior walls, rooflines, attic floors, floors over unconditioned areas, and transitions to the original structure affect comfort and energy performance. Interior walls and ceilings can also be insulated when reducing voices, television, music, and ordinary room noise is part of the remodel goal.
Planning a basement remodel? Ask about ceiling sound reduction before the ceiling cavities are covered. Open framing generally provides the simplest access.

When should I contact Interwest?
Early in planning or while framing is still open. That gives Interwest time to review the assemblies, required insulation, trade readiness, and installation schedule.
Can insulation be added where drywall is staying?
Yes. Most suitable wall and ceiling cavities can be considered for drill-and-fill through planned access openings. Framing, obstructions, moisture, surface condition, and finish responsibilities affect the plan.
Can the project include both thermal and sound insulation?
Yes. The estimate can separate exterior thermal-envelope work from interior sound-reduction work so the purpose and specification for each area are clear.
